Most other state Medicaid programs also cover emergency contraception (including for women under 18), but you need to present your pharmacist with a prescription from a doctor or other healthcare provider to receive the benefit (Note: Mississippi Medicaid does not ever cover emergency contraception). In some states, your pharmacist may be able to write a prescription for you. If you live in one of these states, call ahead to the pharmacy to see if they participate in this program.
